Obituary of John F. Jones

Funeral services for Mr. John F. Jones, age 76, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Dr. L.H. McCollough and Rev. Jim Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 1-2 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Jones, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Morehouse General Hospital. He was a retired State of Louisiana inspector having served 32 years with the D.O.T.D. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Bastrop, a Mason, and a member of the Scottish Rites Temple in Monroe, LA. Mr. Jones was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during peacetime. He is preceded in death by his parents, John N. and Sue Carpenter Jones. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Bobbye Bryan Jones; two sons, Ronny Jones and wife Maureen of North Sioux City, SD, and Gregory Jones of Bastrop, LA; brother, Steve Jones and wife Jerry of Simpsonville, SC; and two grandchildren, Trevor Jones and Chandler Jones. Serving as pallbearers will be Trevor Jones, George Joiner, Floyd Bonner, Phil Carpenter, Bro. Andy Myrick, and Ricky Gross. Honorary pallbearers will be Lester Hammons, Lester Meyers and Stanley Bryan.
