Graveside services for Mrs. Nancy Patton Croswell, 79, of Bastrop, LA will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the Christ Church Cemetery with Rev. Rosemary Stelz officiating under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Croswell was born in Camden, AR on January 20, 1933 to Charles and Mary Moore Patton. She passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2012.
Mrs. Croswell graduated Bastrop High School in 1951. She received a B.A. degree from Northeast Louisiana State College in 1954. She taught in the Morehouse Parish School System. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school for many years.
Mrs. Croswell was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Croswell; parents, Charles and Mary Patton; brother, Charles Patton and his wife Betty Little Patton.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Hurst and husband Jerre of Sterlington, LA; three grandchildren, Liam, Chelsea and Kristina; one great grandchild, Makayla; son, Clark Patton Croswell of Baton Rouge, LA; brother, George Patton and wife Martha Ann Messinger of Bastrop, LA; her twin sister, Lila Patton Wolfe of Bastrop, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at Golden Funeral Home.
The family thanks the entire staff of Premier Hospice, especially Anna Brown and Mildred Bradshaw. Lucille Gee of the Council On Aging and her devoted private-duty caretakers, Alice Boley and Ethel Johnson.
