Funeral services for Mrs. Irma Brewster Williams, age 85, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Willis and Rev. Nadine Walters officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williams, a resident of Monroe, formerly of Bastrop and a retired riverboat cook, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Mrs. Williams, was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Brewster; one sister; and three brothers.
Mrs. Williams is survived by one daughter, Linda Brewster Edwards and husband Harold of Mer Rouge, LA; one son Jerry Brewster and wife Melissa of West Monroe, LA; one sister, Dean Daughdrill and husband Charles of Gladewater, TX; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Christopher Edwards, Terry Brewster, Scott Brewster, and nephews, Billy Calhoun, James Calhoun, and Frankie Hinson.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m until service time at Golden Funeral Home.
