Obituary of William Riley Womack

Funeral services for Mr. William Riley Womack, age 82, are scheduled for 2 P.M. Thursday March 22, 2012 at Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Vollmar officiating. Interment will follow in Mer Rouge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Womack, a retired business owner and resident of Mer Rouge, passed away Tuesday March 20, 2012. He was a member of Mer Rouge Baptist Church, a proud United States Marine, an avid football fan, he was also one of the founding members of the Mer Rouge Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of the Lions Club.
He is survived by his sons, Billy Womack and his wife Amy of Mer Rouge, LA, David Hendershot and wife Marsha of Rayville, LA; sisters, Marie Womack Dew and Mary Lou Parker and husband T.J. all of Mer Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Chad Womack and wife Ashley, Dana Gavin and husband Roy, John Johnson and wife Kristy, Nick Johnson and wife April, great grandchildren, Makenzie Gunter, Kailyn Gunter, Holleigh Johnson, Brooklyn Johnson, Austin Johnson, mother of his children Nancy Barton, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Womack is preceded in death by his father, Rufus Eugene Womack, mother, Ruby Butler Womack, children, Joseph Edward Womack, Amy Elizabeth Womack, great grandchild, Caiden Gunter, brothers and sisters, Clarence Womack, Daisy Womack, Virginia Womack Bagwell, Archibald Womack, Dorothy Womack Wilson, Hubert Womack and Vera Womack Kirksey.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Ted Parker, Carol Dew, George Aycock, Eddie Eckles, Jim Eckles, and Bengie Carter.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Kyle, William Hayden, and Don Ogden.
