Obituary of Elvyra Irene Pettiss

Graveside services for Elvyra Irene Norsworthy Pettiss will be held at Carter Cemetery, Collinston, LA on Wednesday May 4, 2005 at 2 p.m. Mrs. Pettiss was born October 9, 1917, and lived most of her adult life in Springhill and Shreveport, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Addie and John Norsworthy, and her husband of 65 years, Byron Leigh Pettiss. She will be greatly missed by her 2 daughters, Marie Pettiss Toles of Shreveport, and Elvyra Mains of Little Rock, AR; her grandsons, Mark Pettiss Toles of Hawaii, John Forest Toles of Montana, John Paul Mains of Arkansas, and Richard Leigh Mains of New York; and her great granddaughters, Katie Toles, Kayla Mains and Emily Grace Mains. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in memory of Mrs. Pettiss to The Glen Retirement Center, 403 East Flournoy Lucas Rd, Shreveport, LA 71115, where with the assistance of Dr. John Underwood and the staff of Doctors Hospital, she has so lovingly been cared for during the last 5 years.
