Obituary of William Norman "Buddy" McDuffie

Graveside services for Mr. William Norman "Buddy" McDuffie, age 91, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Oak Ridge Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Claude Hughes and Rev. Louis Redden officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 9 - 10 a.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. McDuffie, a retired farmer, passed away Monday, September 17, 2007 at Richardson Medical Center. He was a resident of Oak Ridge and attended Oak Ridge Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elna Fontenot McDuffie, son, John Norman McDuffie, parents, John & Lottie McDuffie; brother, John Sam McDuffie; and two sisters, Margaret McDuffie Phillips and Mary McDuffie. He is survived by his friend and companion, Edith R. Schooler of Oak Ridge; sister-in-law, Jane McDuffie of West Monroe; special friends, Lucille H. Puckett and the Willie Mays family; and many nieces & nephews. Honorary pallbearers are James A. Brown, Jr., Kenny Cobb, Jr., Johnny Fitch, Jimmy C. Smith, Wallace Lane Schooler, Thomas Ryan Schooler, Michael Denny, Mike Barham, Bob Carter, Bernard Waite, Carl Odom, Gene Allen, Pete Guimbellot, David Ross, Bill Johnston, Newton Smith, Dr. David Thompson, and Dr. Chaudry.
