Obituary of Edward N. Brown

Graveside funeral services for Edward N. Brown, 69, of Bastrop, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2005 at Stevenson Cemetery with Rev. Ralph "Buddy" Kinney, Jr. officiating. Eulogy will be given by his grandson, Joshua Hobson. Mr. Brown was a retired logger and a member of the Baptist faith. He was stationed in Germany during his military service with the U.S. Army. He died Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at Glenwood Medical Center in West Monroe, La. Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Shirley Kinney Brown; three daughters, Debra Hobson and husband Reggie of Spencer, LA, Holly Lawrence and husband Jerry of Bastrop, LA, Sandra Middleton and husband Tony of Bastrop, LA; three brothers, John Brown and wife Sue of Bullshead, AZ, Raymond Brown and wife Reatha of Leola, AR, Jerry Freeland of Bastrop, LA; six grandchildren, Joshua Hobson and wife Heather, Heath Hobson, Sydney Middleton, Matthew Brown, Tori Lawrence, Jacob Lawrence and a great granddaughter, Carlie Hobson. He is preceded in death by parents, Ollie and Lois Brown, father in law, Lawrence Kinney and mother in law, Ivera Kinney. Honorary pallbearers are: Joshua Hobson, Heath Hobson and Matthew Brown. Visitation will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
