Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Uldene Rawls Russell, age 86, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Black officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m until 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Russell was born August 2, 1925 in West Monroe, LA to parents, Mary Matilda Bamburg and Buck Hannon Rawls. She went to be with her Lord on Friday, April 27, 2012. She was a homemaker and member of Central Missionary Baptist Church. Her favorite hobbies included quilting with her ladies quilting group, cooking, traveling, fishing, and flower gardening. Mrs. Russell was very devoted to her children family and friends. She leaves us with many wonderful memories of a passionate life full of zest, humor, and sincere love for people. Mrs. Russell is survived by her son, Richard Rawls Russell and wife Gail; daughter, Carol Russell Jones and husband Bobby ; sister, Norma Rawls Kelly and sister in-law, Helen Rawls all of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Christopher Scott Russell of Dallas, TX, Mary Michelle Russell Otwell and husband Matt of Zachary, LA, Emily Jones Fulmer and husband Kris of Bastrop, LA, Hannah Jones Bagwell and husband Ricky of Pearl, MS; great grandchildren, Deanna Margaret Russell, Richard Alexander Otwell, Emma Abigail Otwell, Macy Nicole Fulmer, Kinsley Brooke Fulmer and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Davis Russell; brothers and sisters, Eunice Rawls Strong, John Dennis Rawls, Menice M. Rawls, L.E. Rawls, Albert Nolan Rawls, Opal Rawls Yeldell, Edna Rawls Hughes and Cordia Beatrice Rawls. Serving as pallbearers are: Kris Fulmer, Lonnie Hughes, John Dennis Kelly, Matt Otwell, Buddy Rawls, Scott Russell, Lennon Strong and Meeks Strong. Honorary pallbearers are: William Brown, Howard Hughes, Jimmy Hughes, Louie Hughes, Robert Hughes, Charles Kelly, Albert Rawls and Arnold Rawls. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the organization or charity of your choice.
