Nancy, Mike and Lauren Vespoli would like to send our condolences to the Shackelford family. Though we didn't know Duke, having known George for the last 34 years, and having met Duke and Sue briefly at Dartmouth at graduation, we know what an incredible man he must have been. We have heard stories about him from George, and just knowing the special person that George is, we know that the apple does not fall far from the tree. We send our deepest sympathy to all of you.

During my 15 years at Bastrop National Bank, we referred to Mr. Duke as the "King of Morehouse Parish", and I considered that to be a fact. He was such a wonderful man. The community,his friends and family will miss him very much.
