Eva Pearl Kendrick Stech was born in a cotton field near Mer Rouge, Louisiana on July 23, 1930. She graduated high school in Bastrop, LA and moved to San Francisco, CA after graduation. Eva married Walt Lockwood and had 2 sons, James Bradley Lockwood and Michael Duane Lockwood. Her living legacy is made up of 2 sons, 5 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. She eventually moved back to Bastrop around 1994 where she remained. Eva made a living through the years as a type setter for commercial newspapers, and her first typesetting job was at the Bastrop Daily Enterprise. She had a zest for life and enjoyed travelling, fishing, playing games, and visiting with her family. Eva loved the Lord with her all heart and was a member of Trinity Assembly of God church family who she loved dearly. Visitation will be on Friday, May 25 from 5-8 pm at Golden Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at Trinity Assembly of God church on Saturday, May 26 at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Golden Funeral Home.
