Obituary of Mabel McCarty Herrington

Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel McCarty Herrington, 90, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Don Justice officiating. Interment will follow in the Christ Church Cemetery. Mrs. Herrington, a homemaker, Avon representative, member of International Paper's Quarter Century Club and First Church of God, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Morehouse General Hospital. She is survived by two daughters, Fay H. Butler and husband Owen of Mer Rouge, LA, Janice H. King of Crossett, AR; sister in-law, Ethel Pitts of Mobile, AL; two sisters, Merle Osborn of CA, Onie Carpenter of Lake Charles, LA; five grandchildren, Tony Herrington, Todd Herrington, Niki Crocker, Mitchell Butler, William Butler and several great grandchildren. Mrs. Herrington is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Earl Herrington; sons, Larry E. Herrington, Ray Herrington; daughter, Maxine Ederington; parents, William Henry and Ethel Yeldell McCarty; brothers, Jack and Wilbur McCarty and a son in-law, Johnny King. Serving as pallbearers are: Mitchell Butler, Tony Herrington, Todd Herrington, Owen Butler, David McCarty, Anthony Crocker. Honorary pallbearers are: Jerry Freeman, Billy King and William Butler. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Golden Funeral Home.
