Graveside services for Mrs. Nina M. Day, age 97, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2012 at Oak Ridge Baptist Cemetery with Bro. Earl Hogan officiating. Visitation will be held Monday morning from 9-10:30 a.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Day, a retired U.S. Postal Service Post Master in Oak Ridge, LA, passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 at Oakwoods in Mer Rouge, LA. She was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. She loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and other outdoor activities. Mrs. Day is preceded in death by her husband, AA "Buddy" Day; parents, Gill and Neelie Miller; sister, Lola Gilmer; brother, Jack Miller; sons, Grady E. "Buster" Day, William L. "Billy" Day; grandson, Hugh A. Wood; and granddaughter, Sheri Franklin Wood. Mrs. Day is survived by her daughter, Ruby D. Wood and husband Jesse E. Wood, Jr. of Beekman, LA; grandsons, Jesse E. Wood III and wife Cynthia of Bastrop, LA, Roger A. Wood and wife Christi of Tyler, TX, Ronnie Day and wife Robin of Crossett, AR, Donnie Day of Little Rock, AR, William T. Day of San Antonio, TX; granddaughters, Nina E. Eckles and husband Eddie of Beekman, LA, Donna Wright of Tyler, TX, Teri Guess and husband Dana of Oak Grove, LA, Leslie Araiza and husband Joe of San Antonio, TX; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home of Monroe.
