Funeral services for Mr. Archie Harrison, age 95, will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, January 13, 2011 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Kelvin Copeland and Rev. David Sistrunk officiating. Interment will follow in Red Wing Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Harrison, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at LeGrand. He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Blanche Hilton Harrison; five brothers; and four sisters. Mr. Harrison was retired from International Paper Company after 33 years of service. He was a member of East Haven Church of God where he was Secretary and Treasurer for 33 plus years. He also enjoyed his grandchildren and gardening.
Mr. Harrison is survived by one daughter, Emma Jean Graves and husband Nathan of Bastrop, LA; three sons, James Wesley Harrison of Benton, LA, Thomas Richard Harrison of Bastrop, LA, Billy Joe Harrison and wife JoAnn of Texarkana, AR; one sister, Marie Knoblock of Star City, AR; one brother, Raymond Harrison of Star City, AR; fifteen grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Golden Funeral Home.
