Obituary of Reese Dumas

Funeral services for Reese Dumas, age 81, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday June 7, 2005 at the Golden Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Scott Petrus officiating. Burial will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Mr. Dumas, a resident of Bastrop, passed away June 4, 2005 at Morehouse General Hospital. Visitation will be held Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Goldens. Mr. Dumas was retired from International Paper Company. He loved to fish, hunt, work in his garden, and take care of his dogs. He is survived by step-son, Dennis Ainsworth & wife Dawn of California; sister, Lena Wells of Bastrop; grandchildren, Melissa Ainsworth and Daniel Ainsworth; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents, Barney Dumas & Beatrice Dumas Rushing; sister, Osie Lee Smith; and brothers, Tommie Dumas and Bud Dumas. Pallbearers will be Leon Martin, Scott Martin, Eric Carney, Ryan Morris and Danny Corrent. Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Liles, Luther Allen, Joyce Martin, Angela Hughes, Rachel Hughes, and Jan Corrent. Memorial contributions may be made to Riverside Baptist Church or to the Humane Society.
