Funeral services for James Monroe Bowen of Bastrop, LA, born October 17, 1928 in Marion, LA, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2012 at Greenacres Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Ballard, Bro. Gerald Gates, and Bro. Doug Hughes officiating. Mr. Bowen was a retired employee of International Paper Company with 41 years of service. He was a longtime member of Greenacres Baptist Church and a 32 degree Mason. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lula (Tennie) Bowen; brother, Benjamin (Buddy) Bowen; sons, Terry Bowen and wife Patricia of Bastrop, LA, Randy Bowen and wife Brenda of Sterlington, LA; daughters, Jo Lynn Denton and husband Eddie of Mer Rouge, LA, Tonya Wilson and husband Mike of Gardendale, AL; grandchildren, Christy Thompson, Mia Rayborn and husband Nathan, Stephen Bowen and wife Ramona, Laura Phillips and husband Andrew, Mary Ellen Bowen, James David Bowen, Melissa Hughes and husband Doug, Alex McQuillin, Landon Adams and girlfriend Holly Counts, James Denton and wife Rebecca, Mike Denton; great grandchildren, Morgan Thompson, Hunter Rayborn, Haylie Rayborn, Taylor Mason, Kristen Bowen, Lane Bowen, Garrett Phillips, Mallory Phillips, Declan Hughes, Evan Hughes, Ben Denton, Megan Denton, Jenna Denton, Tiger Denton, Bryn Denton; great great grandchildren, Alaina Reppond, Alexis Reppond; and close friend, Ina Crow. Mr. Bowen is preceded in death by his parents, David and Golma Bowen, and brother, Jimmy Dale Bowen. Pallbearers are Stephen Bowen, James David Bowen, Andrew Phillips, Nathan Rayborn, Alex McQuillin, and Landon Adams. Honorary pallbearers are Hunter Rayborn, Lane Bowen, Garrett Phillips, John T. Crow, Mikie Barmore, Danny Barmore, and Dr. Carter Cox. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Our Father, Papaw, and Friend is in Heaven with our Lord Jesus.
