Lillian Marcell Moore, 90, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Terrace in Bastrop. She was born on Christmas Day, 1921. Graveside services were held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bastrop on July 3, 2012, officiated by Reverend James Moffett of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Mrs. Moore's home church. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Moore enjoyed a nursing career at Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop and Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Rayville. Her best delight, however, was in her family and friends, her garden and cooking for holiday meals. She and her husband, the late Felix Moore, were married 68 years. She is survived by their two sons, Karl Moore and wife Linda of Landrum, South Carolina, and Walter Moore and wife Margaret of Bastrop; four grandchildren, Karla Moore, Scott Moore, Mary Ekdahl, Pam Carleton-Smith; ten great grandchildren; her brother, Melvin Eubanks and wife Eunice of Bastrop; as well as a large extended family. While at the Arbor and Terrace, Mrs. Moore received the very best professional care and made many friends among the staff and residents for which she always grateful. Special gratitude is also extended on her behalf to Dr. Mike Smith and the caregivers with Premier Hospice. Golden Funeral is in charge of the arrangements.
