Obituary of Juanita Goodwin McDaniel

Graveside services for Mrs. Juanita Goodwin McDaniel, age 86, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Bartholomew Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Yocum officating under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. McDaniel, a retired store manager for Dollar General and a resident of Bastrop, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012. Mrs. McDaniel is preceded in death by her parents, Kent and Ouida Goodwin; husband, Homer McDaniel; four sisters, Tappie Bryan, Lou Harris, Allie Collins, Bay Goodwin; and four brothers, Crandle Goodwin, Doty Goodwin, George Goodwin, Kent Goodwin, Jr. Mrs. McDaniel was a loving mother and grandmother and a friend to all. Mrs. McDaniel is survived by four sons, Jerry McDaniel and wife Carol Jo, Jimmy Don McDaniel, Danny McDaniel and wife Lana all of Bastrop, LA, Rodney McDaniel of Columbia, LA; one brother, Hersey Goodwin and wife Rose of Bastrop, LA; three grandchildren, Dana White and husband William of Swartz, LA, Jamie McDaniel of Monroe, LA, Laticia Lenard and husband Scott of Bastrop, LA; seven great grandchildren, Landon Brown, Cole Brown, Connor Brown, Kali Brown, Nolan Lenard, Arthur Lenard, Konner McDaniel; and lifelong best friend, Wilma Turner of Bastrop, LA. Honorary pallbeares will be great grandsons, Charles Sims, Cat Turner, and Wayne Hargrave. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. The family would like to give a very special thanks to the entire staff of Cherry Ridge Guest Care for their professional loving kindness in the care of Mrs. McDaniel.
