Obituary of Miss Lucille Eloise Eckles

Graveside services for Miss Lucille Eloise Eckles, age 92, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Mer Rouge Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Rev. Ron Vollmar will officiate the service. Miss Eckles was a retired elementary school teacher. She had taught at numerous schools in the region including Oak Hill Elementary and Prairie View Academy in Bastrop. She was a member of Mer Rouge Baptist Church. She passed away Monday, October 22, 2007 at Morehouse General Hospital. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emmett & Erba Parks Eckles; her brother, T.W. Eckles; and her sisters, Doris Simms, Louise Wilder, and Lula Belle May. She is survived by four nieces, several great nephews, and a sister-in-law. Memorial contributions may be made to Mer Rouge Baptist Church, Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, or to the charity of your choice.
