Funeral services for Forest (Elmore) Johnson, 91, of Bastrop will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Don Bryan officiating. Interment will be at the Roark Cemetery in Marion under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnson, a member of New Friendship Church passed away June 18, 2005 at Morehouse General Hospital. He was retired from the Thermatomic Carbon Plant in Sterlington, LA, was a cattle farmer and loved to play dominos.
He is survived by a son, Johnny Johnson and wife Roberta of Metrairie, LA; two grandchildren, Tracy Harris and Shannon Hollowell of Calhoun, LA; five great grandchildren; nephew, Billy Johnson and devoted friends, Merlin and Ernestine Thomas.
Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Vera Johnson; wife, Chloe Johnson and a brother, Harvey Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2005 at Golden Funeral Home.
