Graveside services for Opal McCrary Harkness, resident of Duncan, OK, formerly long-time resident of Collinston, LA, are scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, August 20, 2012 in Carter Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Opal was born October 26, 1925 in Des Arc, AR. She was a homemaker and a wonderful loving mother who taught her chldren to love the Lord as she did with all her heart. Her legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by three children; William Kellis Harkness of Kingwood, TX, Peggy Davenport-Cook, Nancy Gail Harkness, both of Duncan, OK; two grandchildren, Tammy Nicole Harkness Belt, William Kellis Harkness III; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Opal is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Kellis Harkness; parents, Rush and Mabel McCrary; brothers, Cecil McCrary, Norman McCrary; sisters, Faye Doss, Mackie McCain and two infant sons.
Pallbearers will be Randy McCrary, Ronnie McCrary, Tim Harkness, Jim Harkness, William Kellis Harkness,III and Claud Cook.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
