Funeral services for Mr. Louis Henry Head, age 81, of Bastrop are scheduled for 10:00AM Thursday, August 23, 2012 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Peters officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00PM in Forest Park Cemetery (St. Vincent Ave.) Shreveport, LA.
Mr. Head, a retiree of International Paper Company passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012. He was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church and served his country in the United States Navy.
Mr. Head is survived by his wife of 32 years, Irma L. Head; step-son, Greg McMath of Shreveport, LA; step-daughters, Charlcye McMath of Bradenton, FL, Jackie Jacobs Boies and husband Scott of Mer Rouge, LA, Ginger Jacobs Anderson of Gilmer, TX, Dorothy Ebers and husband Steve of Gaysville, AL; numerous step-grandchildren and numerous step-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Jackson Head and Lucille Hubbard Head; step-mother, Lavada Head, and step-son, Donald McMath.
Pallbearers will be members of his Sunday School class; Floyd Tubbs, Quenton Burchfield, Jerry Goodman, Huey Evans and Jerry Tomlin.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
