Obituary of Theodore Kinney

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Theodore Kinney, age 88, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Hughes Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Kinney officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 5-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Kinney, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Morehouse General Hospital. He was a retired ranch foreman having worked for 42 years with J2 Ranch. Mr. Kinney was a veteran of World War II and a member of the First Church of God. He loved his family and was known as being of man of his word. He is preceded in death by his parents, L.O. and Ivera Kinney; sister, Shirley Brown; and three brothers, Jimmy Kinney, Ralph Kinney, and George Kinney. Mr. Kinney is survived by his wife of 64 years, Opal Kinney; three sons, Gary Kinney and wife Patty of Bastrop, David Kinney and wife Diane of Fountain Hill, AR, Joel Kinney and wife Charlene of Bastrop; brother, Gene Kinney and wife Sue Griffis Kinney of Bastrop; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Kinney, Jr., Jason Kinney, Jeff Kinney, Andrew Ward, Matt Kinney, and Carter Craft.
