Funeral services for George S. Boyd, Sr., 64, of Monroe, will be 4 PM Thursday, June 30, 2005 at Golden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Bonner officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Boyd, a retired employee of the University of Louisiana Monroe, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at the LSU Medical Center of Monroe. Mr. Boyd was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Monroe, and is preceded in death by his parents, Edward R. Boyd, Jr. and Annie Peters Boyd.
He is survived by a daughter, Twyla Moreland & husband Brad of West Monroe; a son, George Scott Boyd, Jr. & wife Terri of West Monroe; 3 sisters, Jean Kennedy & husband Jim of Start, LA, Delores Watts & husband John of Monroe, Helen Powell of Houma, LA; and a brother, John Edward Boyd of Bastrop.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Lebran, Jr., Donald Boyd, and Bobbie Boyd.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 30, 2005 from 1 PM to service time at Goldens
