Obituary of Irene Pratt Rogers

Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Pratt Rogers, age 93, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rosemary Stelz and Rev. Furniss Harkness, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Rogers, a homemaker and resident of Bastrop, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Rogers, Sr.; two children, John Mark Rogers, Ellen Rogers Vines; sister, Anita Pratt Williams and brother-in-law Harry Williams; five brothers-in-law and spouses; and five sisters-in-law and spouses. Mrs. Rogers is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn Williams and husband Ron of West Monroe, LA, Nancy K. Rogers of Monroe, LA; her son, Thomas A. Rogers, Jr. and wife Marti of Sulphur, LA; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Jones, Mike Clark, Britt Risinger, Blaine Manuel, Jack Sumner, and Holden Rogers. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or to the Charity of Choice.
