Mr. Loveday, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather was born August 1, 1922 in Sevierville, Tennessee to A.C. and Bertie Loveday. He passed to his reward on November 13, 2007.
Ray served his country during World War II from 1942 to 1945. During his tour of duty he was stationed in Ruston, LA, as a guard for the prisoners of war. He met the love of his life during a weekend pass, married, made his home, and raised his family in Bastrop. He owned and operated his own business for approximately 60 years. Loveday's Garage was well known, as well as Ray's ability to fix anything. He was an avid carpenter and an all around handy man. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was an ordained deacon. His love for the Lord showed through with everything he did and he was a great inspiration to his family and everyone who knew him.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, A.C. & Bertie Loveday; his baby sister, Iva Clark; and his wife, Helen Quanita Loveday.
He is survived by one brother, Frank Loveday & wife Earnestine; four children, Ronald Ray Loveday & wife Faye, Vickie L. Wilmore, Jannice Hightower & husband Mark, Darlene Richard & husband Melvin; seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Greg Loveday, Brandon Loveday, Eric Hightower, Jared Richard, and grandsons-in-law, Johnny Copeland, Steve Ward, and Danny McGraw.
