Obituary of James Loyless

Funeral services for Mr. James William "Billy" Loyless, 85, of Bastrop are scheduled for 9 AM Monday, December 10, 2007 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Beekman Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Loyless was born June 17, 1922 in South Carolina and moved to Bastrop at the age of 6. He served in the United States Army during World War II and has been a member of Bethel Baptist Church for the past 57 years where he also served as a deacon. Mr. Loyless was employeed at International Paper Company for 37 years and also worked for the Morehouse Parish Sheriff's Department.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nelle Loyless; son, James Loyless, Jr. and wife Betty; daughter, Sharon Kelley; four grandchildren, Brad Fancher and wife Pam, Tiffany Fox and husband Scottie, David Loyless and Jonathan Loyless; two step-grandchildren, Allen Wilkinson and wife Katy and Melanie Lowery; three great grandchildren, Caleb Wilkinson, Logan Wilkinson and Bethany Fancher.
Mr. Loyless is preceded in death by his parents, E. B. and Ollie Loyless; sister, Elizabeth Fraley; brother, John Ed Loyless; step-grandson, Eric Wilkinson and son-in-law, Marion Kelley.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Buddy Richards, Charles Moore, Dexter Bryan, Carl Patrick, Butch Musgrove and David Boone.
Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Hughes, R.W. Patrick and Earl Brown.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 9, 2007 at Bethel Baptist Church from 5 PM until 8 PM.
