Obituary of Marvin B. Stewart

Funeral services for Mr. Marvin B. Stewart, age 92, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2007 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Schrock officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Stewart, a retired employee of 45 years with Stauffer Chemical Company, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2007 at his residence. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having been awarded the Purple Heart. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, completely devoted to his family, and was the "rock" of the Stewart family. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eula Shuff Stewart; daughter, Sherry Crabtree; grandson, James Marvin Crabtree; great grandson, Chase Noel Bayless and son in-law, Thomas A. Bradley. Mr. Stewart is survived by daughter, Debbie Bradley of Columbia, LA; son, Tommy Stewart and wife Wanda of Bastrop, LA; two sisters, Alice Brewster of West Monroe, LA, Dorothy Abernathy of Lake Charles, LA; five grandchildren, Laura White, Joseph Bradley, Jessica Bradley, Ty Stewart, Trey Stewart; seven great grandchildren, Mark Barfield, Brooklyn Stewart, Sophie White, Tres Wayne Stewart, Caden Johnson, Chase Mitchell Stewart and Gaige West. Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Bradley, Ty Stewart, Trey Stewart, Mark Barfield, Brent White, and Chipper West.
