Obituary of John Michael Baker

John Michael Baker, 64, of Bastrop, LA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 3, 2012. Mr. Baker was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He was a dedicated employee for 38 years at International Paper Company in Bastrop. He was President of Waterworks District #1 of Morehouse Parish and a member of the Twin City Chevy Club. He was a charter member of Harmony Baptist Church and retired owner of Central Security Burgular Alarms. Mr. Baker is preceded in death by his father, Elwood Baker. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 1/2 years, Mary Taliaferro Baker; son, Kevin Michael Baker and wife Dana of Spring, TX; grandson, Kollin Michael Baker, who was his pride and joy; mother, Juanita Baker of Bastrop; sister, Sandy Coats and husband Andy of Bastrop; twin sister, Myra Albritton and husband Gary of Farmerville; nieces, nephews and many loving friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Harmony Baptist Church with Brother Allan Eppinette officiating and Brother "Bubba" Delton Jordan assisting. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church. Serving as pallbearers will be: Melvin Wilkerson, Gary Harper, Butch Aulds, John Sampognaro, Percy Rogers and Edward Nugent. Honorary pallbearer is Thomas Hilton. The family would like to thank Dr. Carter Cox, the Morehouse Dialysis staff and Harmony Baptist Church for their care and compassion.
