Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Melvie M. Parker, age 85, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2007 at Pine Grove South Cemetery with Rev. Don Bryan officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Parker, a homemaker, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at the Oak Woods Home for the Elderly. She was a resident of Mer Rouge.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Roy Parker; two children, Sonny Parker, Jennie Parker; and great nephew, Gabriel Wimbish.
She is survived by her sister, Ida Howell of Ruston, LA; brother, Thomas Osborne of Sterlington, LA; two grandchildren, Eric Parker of Houma, LA, Chris Parker of Houma, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
