Funeral services for Dorothy J. Louvent Mitchell, 95, of Bastrop will be at 10 AM Thursday, August 11, 2005 at Golden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dalyn Helbling officiating. Burial will follow in Christ Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Mitchell, a homemaker, died Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at The Terrace of Bastrop. Dorothy was born on the Sartor Plantation near Alto, LA and was a member of the Bastrop First Church of God.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by 2 daughters, JoAnn M. Rawls of Tuscaloosa, AL; Joy M. Carmichael & husband Carl of Plano, TX; 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth Whitehead & husband Del of Tuscaloosa, AL; Mitchell Rawls of Morgan City, LA ; Alyce B. Landry & husband Morgan of Prairieville, LA; 3 great grandchildren, Zachary Case; Austin & Matthew Whitehead; special niece, Betty Little & husband Percy of Bastrop; 2 great nieces Debbie Rogers & husband Gale of Bastrop, and Lisa Willis of Bastrop.
She is preceded in death by her husband of almost 70 years, Edward Embrew Mitchell; a sister, Ann L. Deal; and a brother, Robert Louvent.
Pallbearers will be Carl Carmichael, Del Whitehead, Percy Little, Gale Rogers, Phillip Henry Willis, and Jerry Spikes.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 PM Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Golden Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bastrop First Church of God.
