Obituary of Bethel "Dixie" Ritchie

Funeral services for Mrs. Bethel "Dixie" Ritchie, 78, of Bastrop are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father John Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ritchie, an employee of the Louisiana Job Center and a retiree of Morehouse General Hospital, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the VFW Auxillary and a past State President of the VFW Ladies Auxillary.
She is survived by her children, Pat and Doug Evans, JoAnn and Gerald Blazier, Kathy and Ricky McDonald, Andy and Kim Ritchie all of Bastrop, LA; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Mrs. Ritchie is preceded in death by her husband, A.C. Ritchie,Sr.; parents, G.B. and Bethel Griffin and a brother, Bobby Griffin.
Serving as pallbearers are: Joel Beal, Chris Cockrell, Greg Martin, Paul Bryan, Shawn Williams, Rob Griffin, John Griffin and Perry Singleton.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the VFW and Auxillary.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 26, 2005 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home with prayer vigil beginning at 7 p.m.
