Funeral service for John Lee Foreman Torres,age 68, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2005 at Golden Funeral Home Chapel with Branton Shelton and Gary Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Torres, a retired truck driver and U.S. Marine Corp veteran, died Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Torres; four daughters, Diane Florita and husband Mark of Lafaria, TX, Candis Carnahan and husband Allen of Choudrant, LA, Felicia Ann Adams of McMinville, TN, Kimberly Torres of Swartz, LA; three sons, John Lee Torres, Jr. of Maryland, Scott Langston of Monroe, LA, John Lee Torres III of Farmington, NM; stepchildren, Patty Hutchinson and husband Ken of Bastrop, LA, Charles Shelton III of Bastrop, LA, Branton Shelton of Bastrop, LA; brother, David Torres of Ohio; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a special friend " like a brother " Jerry Wilson.
Mr. Torres is preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Foreman and husband John and father, Tony Torres.
Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Carnahan, Kenneth Hutchinson, Charles Shelton, Branton Shelton, Joe McKenzie, and Frank Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers are Gary Harris and Cleatis Hemphill.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 25, 2005 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
