Obituary of Floyd Carney

Funeral services for Mr. Floyd Carney, age 78, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Price officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Carney, a retired carpenter and resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mertie Carney; brothers, Dennis Carney and Virgil Carney; and sister, Ethel Chance.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Carney; two daughters, Wanda Goleman and husband Harvey of Natchitoches, LA, Christine Richard of Bossier City, LA; sister, Florence Eskew of Bastrop, LA; brother, James Carney of Bastrop, LA; four grandchildren, Cynthia Doffitt, Damon Richard, Jordan Richard, Collin Richard; great grandchild, Kale Doffitt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Carney was a member of Greenacres Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, riding motorcycles, running and photography. He also loved building furniture and toys for his grandkids and family members.
Serving as pallbearers are: Thomas Shumate, Billy Boler, Harvey Goleman, Damon Richard, Jordan Richard, Collin Richard, Chris Doffitt and Donald Odom.
Honorary pallbeares will be: Jimmy Christmas, Ronald Pettis, Mike Outlaw, Keith Outlaw and Robert Shumate.
