Obituary of Pauline "Ping" Ferschoff

Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline "Ping" Ferschoff, 78, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2008 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Dr. L.H. McCollough and Rev. Jim Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ferschoff move to Bastrop in 1954. She was a sunday school teacher and member of First Baptist Church. She passed away Thursday, January 31, 2008 at her residence. Ping loved all children and, because she had such a love for children, they were drawn to her.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bill Ferschoff, Sr. Bill and Ping were best friends and their love grew richer and deeper with the passing years. She is also survived by her daughter, Diane Ferschoff of Ruston, LA; son, Bill Ferschoff, Jr. of Jackson, MS; sister, Virgie Evans of Marrero, LA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ferschoff is preceded in death by her parents, Virginia Duett Sumrall and Henry Owen Sumrall, Sr.; brother, Henry Owen Sumrall, Jr.; sisters, Ruthie Arceneaux and Louise Austin.
Serving as pallbearers are: C.L. Givens, Charles Carroll, Terry Williams, Louis Floyd, Boots Gladney and Charles Martin.
Honorary pallbearers are: Freddie Marlatt, David Ogden, Joel Boles, Lee Derrick and Doyle Hindmon.
The family wishes to thank friends for their love and support and a special thanks to Vertie Shaw, a special friend.
