Funeral services for Toni Danette Black Smith, 45, of Mer Rouge, LA are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Allan Eppinette officianting. Interment will follow in Mer Rouge Cemetery. Toni, a homemaker, made her home in heaven on February 1, 2008, after struggling with a fatal illness. She was born December 25, 1962, and was the middle of five children. She went on to become a high school graduate and work many jobs throughout her life to provide for her family. Her family will miss her deeply. She is survived by her husband Kevin Smith; two daughters, Heather Black of Monroe, LA, Jessica Brooke Smith of Mer Rouge, LA; son Travis Black and his wife Adrianne of Antioch, TN; step children, Lindsey Smith of West Monroe, LA, Dylan Smith of Swartz, LA; grandmothers, Dorothy Woodard of Collinston, LA, Lucille Black of Mer Rouge, LA; two sisters, Mary Black of Monroe, LA, Debra Black of Bastrop, LA; two brothers, Daniel Black of Collinston, LA, David Black and wife Ana of Bastrop, LA; numerous aunts, uncles, and others who loved her dearly. Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Black of Collinston and Gerald Black of Mer Rouge. Pallbearers will be: Don Smith, Josh Black, Jess Fitch, Paul Denmon, Robert Raney, and Ryan Raney. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Alan Denmon, and Douglas Smith. Visitation will be held from 6 PM until 9 PM Tuesday at Goldens. A donation account has been set up at Goldens to be used towards funeral arrangements and expenses. We thank everyone for their love and support during this time of need.
