Obituary of Myrtle B. Weems McVay

Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle B. Weems McVay, age 85 of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Danny McVay officiating. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. McVay, a homemaker and member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, passed away, Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Cherry Ridge Guest Care. She is survived by her daughter, Eileen DeCorte and husband Danny of Bastrop, LA; four sons, Sheldon McVay of Ashdown, AR, Richard McVay and wife Melinda of Ashdown AR, Dwain McVay of West Monroe, LA, Keith McVay and wife Joan of Bastrop, LA; two sisters, Audie Mercer of Mangham, LA, Vaudie Upton of Delhi, LA and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mrs. McVay is preceded in death by her husband Chalmos C. McVay; two sisters; eight brothers and a daughter in law Violet McVay.
