Obituary of Nell Evelyn Rogers

Funeral services for Mrs. Nell Evelyn Wallace Rogers, 82, of Bastrop are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby O'Fallon officiating. Interment will follow in Stevenson Cemetery. Mrs. Rogers, a homemaker and member of Pine Grove Church of God, passed away Monday, February 18, 2008 at Morehouse General Hospital. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James L. Rogers; two daughters, Nelda Musgrove and husband Julian of Atlanta, TX, Amaryllis Blackburn and husband Bill of Bastrop, LA; sister, Polly Teach of Shreveport, LA; seven grandchildren, Michelle Donley and husband Greg, Jay Musgrove and wife Pat, Angie Tilse, Rian Musgrove and wife Teresa, all of Atlanta, TX, Sabrina Ponce de Leon and husband Chris of Monroe, LA, Roger Blocker of Monroe, LA, Joseph Brown and wife Beth of Salina, KS; ten great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Mrs. Rogers is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. Mrs. Rogers' grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2008 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. The family of Mrs. Rogers would like to express a heartfelt "Thank You" to Dr. E.D. Baker and Dr. Mahmoud Khalil.
