Obituary of James "Cotton" Anderson

Funeral services for Mr. James "Cotton" Anderson, age 74, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Ezra Cook and Rev. David Sistrunk officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday 5-8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Anderson, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013. He was a retired truck driver for Gregory Oil Company. Mr. Anderson was a member of First Assembly of God church. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and operating heavy equipment. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Hazel Anderson, and a brother, Earl Anderson. Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife of 45 years, Alandia Anderson; two sons, Billy Anderson of Swartz, LA, Joey Anderson and wife Ginger of West Monroe, LA; two sisters, Ruth Costin and husband Donald of Mer Rouge, LA, Irene West of Bastrop, LA; two brothers, Bud Anderson of Bastrop, LA, Bill Anderson and wife Margie of Forest, LA; seven grandchildren, Blair Anderson, Coltor Anderson, Jack Anderson, Jacob Anderson, Austin Anderson, Nikita Shockey, Erica Anderson; two daughter-in-laws, Kristi McKenzie, Chasity Johnson; sister-in-law, Sherrie Marshall and husband Billy of St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be James Carnes, Billy Marshall, Mitch West, Mark West, Johnny McVoy, Billy Hunt, and Howard Nolan. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Sharp, Danny Courson, and Doug Winn.
