Funeral services for Mr. Elmer L. Kilcrease, 75, of Monroe, LA are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Kellett officiating. Interment will follow in Beekman Cemetery.Visitation will be held Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Kilcrease, a retiree of Georgia Pacific Paper Mill in Crossett, AR and a veteran of the Korean War, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at St. Francis Specialty Hospital in Monroe, LA. Elmer was born in Morehouse Parish and resided there until five years ago when he went to live with his sister, Barbara Chesney in Monroe, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Kilcrease and Bertie Johnson Kilcrease; brother, Ernest Kilcrease and a sister, Willie V. Mullins. Elmer leaves behind to cherish his memories four sisters, Helen Sumrall of Vancleave, MS, Geraldine Crenshaw of Mer Rouge, LA, Barbara Chesney of Monroe, LA, Betty Hughes of St. Amant, LA; numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, great great nephews , great great nieces and one very special brother-in-law, Leon Hughes of Beekman, LA. Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Francis Specialty Hospital and the nurses of the Cardiac Care Unit.
