Obituary of Huey Chelette

Funeral services for Mr. Huey Chelette, age 83, are scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Myrick officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Chelette was born April 28, 1929 in Clarence, LA, and passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013. He is a retired employee of the Camden, AR International Paper Company and a resident of Bastrop. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lela Norma Chelette; wife, Mary Ann Chelette; two sons, Sammy Ray Chelette and Carl David Chelette; sister, Lena Mae Gwin; and brother, Walter Schellette, Jr. He is survived by three children, Janice Gullett and husband Richard of Eads, TN, Robert Chelette of Welsh, LA, Brenda Gail Reeves of Bastrop, LA; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; sisters, Katie Bankson, Betty Jo Chadwick, Catherine Hankins; special companion of 10 years, Maudene McGrew and her daughters, Dena Hawthorne and husband Andy, and Judy Sims and her special companion Georgina Russell. Serving as pallbearers will be John Middlebrooks, Ralph Reynolds, Olen Haynes, Thomas Mosely, Andy Hawthorne, Charlie Morris, and Britt Hankins. Claude Mann will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
