Obituary of Carol Silmon

Funeral services for Mrs. Carol Silmon, age 69, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Rubin Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Monday at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Silmon, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013. She was an administrative assistant for JC Penny's and Morehouse Imaging. Mrs. Silmon was an active member of Faith Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, cruises, working in the yard, and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Silmon is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Silmon. She is survived by her son, Robert Silmon and wife Martha of Kingsport, TN; two sisters, Elaine Crainshaw and husband Larry of West Monroe, LA, Donnie McDowell and husband Carlton of Bastrop, LA; four brothers, James Farrar of Sheridan, AR, Glenn Farrar and wife Sharon of Bastrop, LA, David Farrar and wife Cindy of Bastrop, LA, Ricky Farrar and wife Diane of Bastrop, LA; and grandchildren, Hannah Silmon, Zachary Silmon, and Joshua Silmon. Donations to Faith Baptist Church food pantry in lieu of flowers are appreciated. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Daigle, Logan Daigle, Justin Crainshaw, Greg McDowell, Jimmy Farrar, and Clay Braxton.
