Obituary of Billie Shipman

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Billie Jean Kelly Shipman, 75, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 11 AM Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Andy Myrick officiating under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Shipman, a retiree of LA Gas Company , International Paper Company and member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008 at her home, as she wished, after a lengthy illness. She is survived by two sons, Kelly M. Shipman and wife Sheila McBroom Shipman, Larry Todd Shipman and wife Karla Townsend Shipman all of Bastrop, LA; two granddaughters, Sierra Nicole Shipman, Jordan Elizabeth Shipman; two grandsons, Dakota Michael Shipman, Jonathan Michael Beach and wife Chelsea Hickman Beach; one great granddaughter, Brooklynne Beach; sister, Macile K. Lechner and husband Ernest of Batesville, AR; brother, James Michael Kelly and wife Carolyn of Austin, TX; brother-in-law, Robert "Bob" McKane ; sister-in-law, Norma Rawls Kelly; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Mrs. Shipman, is preceded in death by her parents, Claude Kelly, Sr. and Hazel Bays Kelly; husband, C. L. Shipman; brother, Claude Kelly, Jr. and sister, Helen Kelly McKane. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2008 from 6 PM until 8 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
