Obituary of Charles William Murphy

Graveside services for Mr. Charles William Murphy, age 72, are scheduled for 1 PM Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Beekman Cemetery with Rev. Harry Lilly officiating under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation is scheduled for 6 PM until 8 PM Tuesday at Goldens. Mr. Murphy, a sergeant of the United States Air Force and retired International Paper Company employee, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013. Mr. Murphy was a veteran of the Vietnam War and enjoyed spending time with all of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Mary Penny Lilly Murphy; his children, Sherri Ingram and husband Robert of Bastrop, LA, Charlene Murphy and partner Marquita Mihaliak of Mer Rouge, LA, Neal Elton and wife Pollyanna of Hamburg, AR, Leslie Elton Smith and husband Stacey of Bastrop, LA, Mae Lynchard of Bastrop, LA, Brent Elton and wife Veronica White of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Susan Harkness and husband Cody, Taylor Ingram, Sarah Ingram, Casey Small, Codey Small, Makenna Elton, Sylvi Elton, Chelsea Smith, Cameron Smith, Logan Smith, Meagan Lynchard, Brileigh Elton, Bayleigh Elton, great grandchild, Amy Harkness. Mr. Murphy is preceded in death by his parents, R.C. and Maybelle Murphy, and a grandson, John Lynchard, Jr. Serving as pallbearers will be Codey Small, Casey Small, Cameron Smith, Logan Smith, Stacey Smith, and Michael Goodson. The family requests that memorial donation be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
