Funeral services for Earl Freeland, 88, of Bastrop will be at 10 AM Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Golden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Marty Black & Charles Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Freeland, a former employee with International Paper Company, retired grocery store owner, and member of Bonita Road Baptist Church passed away Monday, October 3, 2005 at Summerlin Lane Nursing Home.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Avanell Bennett & husband John of Bastrop, Becky Morrison & husband Wendell of Bastrop; 2 step daughters, Clarice Burchfield & husband Freddie of Talbott, TN, Portia Mantooth & husband Butch of Parrottsville, TN; 2 sons, Jerry Freeland & wife Glenda of Bastrop, James Freeland & wife Ruth of Bastrop; 2 step sons, Clarence T. Baker of Texas, James M. Baker & wife Buffy of South Carolina; sister, Alma Barr of Rayville; brother, Willis Freeland & wife Charlene of Bastrop; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Mr. Freeland is preceded in death by a wife and mother of his children, Mildred Freeland; a wife, Gladys Freeland; and a son, Tommy Freeland.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Visitation will be from 5 - 9 PM Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at Golden Funeral Home.
