Obituary of Donald Ray Yates

Funeral services for Donald Ray Yates, 56, of Bastrop, LA have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Speer officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Yates, a U.S. Postal Service employee and member of Buckshot Hunting Club, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at his residence. Some of his favorite hobbies included horses and golfing. He is survived by his wife, Becky Yates; mother, O.Z. Yates of Bastrop, LA; daughter Chasity Yates Rhodes and husband Jeremy of Bastrop, LA; sister, Gayle Johnston and husband Tommy of Bastrop, LA and a brother, Shelby Yates and wife Dee of Bastrop, LA. Mr. Yates is preceded in death by a son, Stephen Ray "Goob" Yates and his father, Herman Yates. Serving as pallbearers are: Jeff Ayo, Rick Ritchie, Larry Dorsam, Mark Scarborough, Frank Day and Cecil Uptigrove. Honorary pallbearers are: Collins Hammonds, Clint Moore and Harold Holland. Visitation will be held Friday, October 7, 2005 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church.
