Obituary of James O. Breland

Funeral services for Mr. James O. Breland, 83, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2008 at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church with Revs. Cal Adams and Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Breland, a retired employee of 37 years with International Paper Company, member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church and a WWII veteran passed away Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Cherry Ridge Guest Care Center. He loved to fish and hunt and after retirement enjoyed spending time with his wife on the lake. Mr. Breland is survived by his daughter, Dottie McCain of Bastrop, LA; son, Jim Breland and wife Debbie of Gonzales, LA; two sisters, Latane Alford of Mt Herman, LA, Betty Jean Alford of Baton Rouge, LA; sister in law, Grace Gilman of Ponchatoula, LA; two brothers, Cecil Breland and wife Dottie of Greenwell springs, LA, Norman Breland and wife Tish of Denham Springs, LA; four grandchildren, Brandon Breland and wife Selena, Jessica LeBlanc and husband John, Amelie Breland, Ashley Carter and husband John; eight great grandchildren, Jacob, Kaylea and Regan Breland, Peyton and Evie LeBlanc, Layton Hammersla, Ian and Shelby Carter and special friends, J.H. and LaRue Lockwood. He is preceded in death by his wife, Buna Breland; parents; four sisters and two brothers. Serving as pallbearers are: Jim Wilson, Truman Hough, Jimmy McCain, James Cummins, Jerry Deville, Huey Evans, Dennis Akers and Jerry Goodman. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church.
