Funeral services for Mr. William Max Norsworthy, age 79, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 at Faith Baptist Church with Revs. Rubin Weaver, Lance Norsworthy and Paul Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Faith Baptist Church.
Mr. Norsworthy was Chairman of Deacons at Faith Baptist and a retired employee of Union Oil Mill. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Max loved gardening and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Norsworthy; children, Maxey Norsworthy and wife Candy of Rayville, LA, Steve Norsworthy and wife Lauralyn of Bastrop, LA; Lori Norsworthy Barton and husband Randy of Bastrop, LA; brothers, Jimmy Norsworthy and wife Melba of Beekman, LA, Johnny Kucera and wife Joann; sister, Peggy Roach and husband Dan; grandchildren, Lance Norsworthy, Katie Barton, Lacey Norsworthy, Seth Norsworthy, Molly Norsworthy and great granddaughter, Brooklynn.
Mr. Norsworthy is preceded in death by his parents, Will and Edna Norsworthy; seven brothers and three sisters.
Serving as pallbearers are: Lance Norsworthy, Seth Norsworthy, Huey Bonner, Chase Carter, Mike Johnson and Todd Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Roy Graham, Marion Johnson, Johnny Legg, Red Warshaw and Deacons of Faith Baptist Church.
