Funeral services for Marvin Leon Evans, 69, of Mer Rouge have been set for Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Bonne Idee Assembly of God Church at 3 p.m. with the Pastor Jerry Stuckey officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Evans passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 in Slidell, LA.
Marvin was born June 24, 1941 in Rayville, LA to Houston Marvin and Annie Belle Evans.
Marvin is survived by his sons, Kevin Weant of Durant, OK, Brian Evans and his wife Leah of Slidell, LA, Mark Evans of Denton, TX; daughter, Shelly Etheridge and her husband William of Bastrop, LA; brothers, Fred Atkins and his wife Brenda of Bastrop, LA, Ralph Atkins of Bastrop, LA; sisters, Sybil Lacombe of West Monroe, LA, Fannie Belle Evans of Crossett, AR, Diane McDougle of Crossett, AR; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Evans and his parents, Houston and Annie Belle Evans.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 from 6-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
