Funeral services for Mr. Yancy C. May, age 50 , will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Allan Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow in Bartholomew Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. May, a resident of Bastrop, LA and an employee at Graphic Packaging in maintenance, passed away Monday, April 15, 2013. Mr. May was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, daddy, papaw, and son. Mr. May enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his family, and loved watching and helping coach his son in baseball. He was a very hard worker and enjoyed visiting with his co-workers. Mr. May is preceded in death by his father, Bobby May. Mr. May is survived by his wife of 28 years, Debra May; mother, Nellie McKee May of Bastrop, LA; one daughter, Misty May Garrison and husband Andrew of Shreveport, LA; three sons, Yancy May II of Shreveport, LA, Brandon Mason of Bastrop, LA, B.J. Sims of Bastrop, LA; two brothers, Bobby B. May of Bastrop, LA, Roger "Boo" May of Bastrop, LA; four grandchildren, Lilly Claire and Molly Kate Garrison, Micah DeWayne Mason, Annabell Nelson; a very special niece, April May and Vierra Scott; and numerous extended family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Mason, Ray Tyson, Carson Crouch, Todd Herrington, Steve McKee, and Adam Deshazo. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Havens, Josh Coleman, Cody Hogan, Jonathan White, and Trent Cox. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
