Obituary of Willis Tyson

Funeral services for Mr. Willis Doyle Tyson, age 71, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, October 15, 2005 at Golden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Barker officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery, Collinston, LA. Mr. Tyson, a retired Pipefitter and member of Fellowship Baptist Church, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at Morehouse General Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Tyson; his father, J.C. Tyson of Oak Grove, LA; daughter, Lavinda Tyson Smith and husband Mark Smith of Mer Rouge, LA; three sons, Jim Tyson and wife Yvonne Tyson of Mer Rouge, LA, Robert Dale Tyson and wife Angie Tyson of Goodwill, LA, Bobby Joe Tyson, Sr. and wife Cheryl Tyson of Goodwill, LA; two sisters, Gilda Massingill of Baton Rouge, LA, Peggy Sue Avault and husband Dr. James Avault of Baton Rouge, LA; two brothers, B.W. Tyson and wife Margie Tyson of Smackover, AR, Larry Tyson and wife Patricia Tyson of Hahnville, LA; five grandchildren, Kristy Gayle Hamilton, Willis Daniel Tyson, B.J. Tyson, Jr., Jesse Levi Tyson, Amber Dawn Tyson; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Tyson is preceded in death by his mother, Odis Tyson;brother, Don Tyson and sister, Betty Ann Guillott. Pallbearers will be Jim Tyson, Robert Dale Tyson, Bobby Joe Tyson, Sr., B.J. Tyson, Jr., Daniel Tyson and Luke Collins. Visitation will be Thursday, October 13, 2005 and Friday, October 14 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
